The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) and Mae Fah Luang University will arrange the GLOBE Train-the-Trainer Workshop in Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai, Thailand during 17 – 23 January, 2016. The GLOBE Program focuses on collaboration among students, teachers, educators, scientists, government officers and others around the world to improve education and to attain better understanding of the earth system. The Program also aims at enhancing environmental awareness as well as inspiring the next generation of explorers, citizens and scientists.

The workshop is unique opportunity for participants to be officially certified by GLOBE Implementation Office (USA) as “National Trainer” qualified to lead teacher training all over the participants’ representative countries leading to do collaborative researches among students, teachers and scientists on Earth System Science using GLOBE Protocols (Soil, Hydrology, Atmosphere and Land Cover Protocols).

Transportation
Bus:             Bangkok (Mo chit) – Chiang Rai

For transportation from the Mae Fah Luang-Chiang Rai International Airport (http://chiangraiairportthai.com/en) or Bus station to Wanawes Inn. Participants are advised to take a 200-300 Baht approximately.

 

NOTE:

Licensed taxi service

The Mae Fah Luang-Chiang Rai International Airport has a licensed taxi service to get you from the airport to your hotel. The price to take you to any city hotel is about 200 Baht/person and more to other places (the prices are on display).

Songtaew

Songtaews are the common form of transportation in Chiang Rai. These are small pickups fitted with benches along the side of the bed. They operate like buses, picking up and dropping off passengers as they go along, except that they have no fixed route. You need to flag one down and find out if where you want to go is on his way before boarding in the back. The price is about 300 Baht/trip.
